PROSTHETIC TECHNIQUES USED FOR THE INSERTION OF A DENTAL IMPLANT

Two ways of fixing onto the implant

1- SEALED CROWN:
This solution is employed when the position of the screw risks harming the aesthetic but it makes any future removal of the tooth difficult.

• A titanium abutment is connected to the dental implant and is screwed on.
• Then a ceramic crown is sealed onto the abutment.

2- SCREWED-THROUGH CROWN:
• A ceramic crown is positioned on the dental implant then fixed with a titanium screw.
• If needed, removal is easy.

The different components

Computer modelling technique (Procera ®)

New avant-garde techniques (Procera©) allow us to model the design and manufacture of abutments and fittings using the computer (CADCAM).

These are components that lie under the ceramic of the crown and thus give it its shape.

These elements are fixed to the implant.

Design and manufacture of the abutment:


1- Abutment is scanned		2- Titanium abutment		3- Zircon abutments

The abutment is scanned. The digital data are sent to Sweden to an automated centre that manufactures the abutment with a laser.

The abutment provides the interface between the dental implant and the ceramic crown. The shape of the abutment (under the ceramic) will thus be made to measure.

And for an even more natural finish, a new material is now used; ZIRCON, which is white.
