Many dental clinics abroad may provide you with services in so-called dental turism, but:
• Concerning prizes, please do compare what is comparable
• Which implant brand is used? (There are hundreds of different brands, some of them are less reliable and of bad quality). The purchasing price of a precise implant brand is more or less the same all over the world.
• In case of post-treatment problems, who will pay for your trip and/or accommodation?
• Will you be charged extra in case of implant failure and/or prosthesis defects?
• Does the clinic comply with rigourous hygienic norms? Is the legislation in force as strict as in France?
• Have the practitioners the same level of qualification as one required in your country?
• Whom can you sue in case of major problems? Has the clinic adequate professional liability insurance? Is the legal liability of the medical practitioners the same as in France (i.e. civil and criminal liability)?
• A check-up twice a year during the first two years after the placement of an implant, and then once a year, is compulsory. Who will cover the costs of your trip and/or accommodation?
